Monday Mumblings and a Goal

Morning everyone! Hope you had a great weekend. Mine was so-so. I had planned to drive down to Topeka to watch Paige's last soccer match of the season, but we had rain all weekend so her game was cancelled. I ended up just meeting the ex at our usual midway spot Saturday morning. We stopped and got some Redbox movies on our way back home. Sometimes I feel like the girls expect me to have grand plans the weekends they're here, but that just isn't feasible. Oh well. We mainly just hung out at home and watched movies. They did drag out my big box of pictures, though and I think they had fun going through those. I need to get a scanner so I can share some of my older pictures.

Emmeline always has a ball when her big sisters are here. She just loves them to death. It helps that there is enough of an age difference so the older girls think she is adorable and not just an annoying baby sister.
How cute are they?

I actually ran every day this weekend. Saturday was supposed to be a Relax day according to my C25K calendar, but I was feeling pretty good so I went ahead and hopped on the treadmill. I ran the full 16 minutes, did the 5 minute walk and busted out another 2 minutes at a faster speed. Yesterday was a different story, however. I planned to do 17 minutes of straight running, but I was exhausted by the time I got to 10. Stopped and walked for 5 and then started running again. I could only run for another 5 minutes before stopping. I think my body was trying to tell me something because I was exhausted for the rest of the day. Skipped my Jillian workout in favor of some wine and it was definitely the right decision.

Now, on to something more positive and slightly scary... I have officially signed up for my first 5K! It is November 3 so I still have three weeks to train, but I am a little freaked out about it. I am going to try to run the whole thing, but I decided that if I have to walk for a bit, it is okay. Wish me luck!

Be sure to check back tomorrow for the Tattoo Link-up with Melanie and if you missed my first vlog post, you can check it out here.

How was your weekend? Anything exciting planned in the upcoming month?

  1. Good luck with your race; good for you for biting the "bullet" and signing up!

  2. Congrats on registering your first 5k, Amanda!! If you can already run 16 minutes non stop, you will have zero problems next month! :)
