Instead, today you will get a recap of my weekend. Friday, I actually stayed home from work because Emmeline was throwing up. Lovely. And she'd had spaghetti the night before. You're welcome. We lazed around pretty much the entire day while she watched Dora the Explorer until I wanted to rip my ears off.
After she went down for a nap, I got my ass on the treadmill and made my own PR. I ran for two miles straight without stopping. I have never done that before and I was so proud of myself. Sure, it was at a 1.0 incline and it was a 12 minute mile, but I did it and no one can take that away from me.
I had all the girls this weekend so I picked them up Friday night. However, we didn't really do anything exciting because I am beyond broke until payday. I thought I was going to try and have all the girls eat Paleo all weekend, but that didn't happen. It is just too hard to fix enough food for seven people and not have some sort of side dish that involves grains or potatoes. I did roast a whole chicken Saturday night and that is definitely going to be a regular meal in rotation.
Saturday, I wanted to do a trial run of my 5K that is coming up in less than a week! It is being held at a local "Nature Sanctuary" that has several walking trails. Boy, did I pick a doozy for a first 5K. It is hilly and hard. Of course, I managed to take the trail that went straight up an extremely steep hill so needless to say, I walked it. I'm not sure how the whole course is going to actually be laid out, but I'm glad I went. I ran/walked for about 2.5 miles in 45 minutes. However, I do feel more prepared now. I wish I would have taken more pictures, but I did snap this one of a nice waterfall.
That's about it for my weekend. I'm off to eat an apple, although what I really want is a blueberry scone with lots of butter. (sigh)
