Weekend fun

My funky mood finally subsided so I ended up having a pretty good weekend. I came home Friday to find my new bib holder from Megan in the mail. She had a contest on Instagram on Thanksgiving and I won! I never win anything so this was pretty cool. Now, I have to get signed up for more races so I can get more bibs.

Saturday morning started off with Jason and I heading over to the nature trail to get in a good walk. No running, but it was still a good 3 mile hike. Then, girls and I headed over to my aunt's house for our annual sugar cookie making bonanza. She hosts this every year and the girls always look forward to it. I may have caved and eaten a few cookies, but didn't get out of control by any means. Emmeline was in heaven with all the M&M's and I had to watch Cordie who kept going back for more candy. I swear that girl is always hungry, but it is probably just the age. Pre-teen angst has officially set in. Here are a few pictures from the fun.
My cousin Sammy, holding Emmeline, is the same age as Cordie, but about 4 inches taller.

Sunday, Jason and I got back out to the trail since our built in babysitters were here. Too bad they can't be with us all the time. It was a little colder out today. I guess our mild winter is going away and the colder temperatures are here to stay. Boo.

The girls and I got out the Christmas decorations and put the tree up (finally). I pretty much sat back and let them go at it. I used to be really anal retentive about where the decorations should be placed, but at some point I figured there is no reason for that. Let them have fun and what does it matter if a couple ornaments are too close together? We also cleaned off the mantle and I rearranged a few pictures. Maybe someday I'll get crazy with the decorating with garland and knick-knacks and bric-a-brac, but for now I'll keep it low key. I am still broke after all.

Little stinker can't keep her hands off the ornaments.
We also hit the thrift store so Hannah could continue her search for an ugly Christmas sweater. Apparently, all the ones in Topeka have been snatched up already. She managed to find a really great cardigan. It even had shoulder pads. Actually, Paige was the one who spied it and grabbed it for her. Good thing too, as there was another girl on the same hunt in the store.

In other news, I have jumped on the Keek bandwagon. It seems to be the new cool thing, so of course I had to be a part of it. I haven't submitted any videos yet, but I'll get right on that.
